As many of you already know Carmeuse ( the old Basic) has purchased the land east of CR. 31 between Twp Rd 170 and 158 with the intent of mining for materials that they specialize in. According to sources Carmeuse also is asking Seneca County for permission to close CR. 31 between Twp. D 170 and 158 permanently. This may result in heavy truck traffic through the village via Emma St.. Our Mayor. Scott Harrison has sent a letter of concern to the Seneca County Commisioners in regard to this action but as to this date he has been the only one to do so. If you have concerns with the closing of CR 31 and/or the truck traffic that may result please address them to the Seneca County Commisioners.
